Dota 2: 5 Players From Eastern Europe Who Shined During the 2023 DPC Division I

We take a look at 5 players who stood out among their peers in Eastern Europe’s 2023 DPC Division I.

Team Spirit, BetBoom Team, and HellRasiers are the 3 teams from Easter Europe that successfully qualified for The Lima Major. The battle was fierce, but in the end, these 3 squads were above the rest. We weren’t surprised that Team Spirit had no problems in the Eastern European 2023 DPC Division I, but BetBoom and HR definitely impressed us.

Of course, the only reason why these 3 teams succeeded is because of their players. Eastern Europe has always been home to some of the best Dota 2 stars, and this year is no exception. We had the chance to see several top-tier players in Division I, so let’s learn more about 5 of them that stood out.

TORONTOKYO

To be fair, everyone from BetBoom Team deserves to be on the list because the team is on another level compared to the rest in the region. Even though the organization got a new roster, BB Team ripped through everyone and secured first place in EEU”s DPC Divions I.

Some people may say that GPK is the player who deserves to be on the list, but we think this honor should go to TORONTOKYO. The latter won The Internationa 10 with Team Spirit in 2021 and was one of the best mid-laners in the game. However, he decided to switch to position 5 and join BetBoom’s new roster.

Although several mid-laners have switched to the support role over the years, it seems like TORONTOKYO will be the most successful one yet. His experience has helped his team a lot, so we expect him to have a crucial role for BetBoom at the Lima Major. Keep in mind that this event will take place in just a few days from now.

Yatoro

When talking about the best Dota 2 players in Eastern Europe that were on another level during the 2023 DPC Division I Tour 1, we need to include Yatoro. The International 10 winner has proven himself as the best carry player in this region. His incredible farming speed, game sense, and ability to carry games make him one of the best in the world.

Team Spirit had no problems qualifying for the first Major of the 2023 DPC after winning six matches. Interestingly, the TI-winning organization only lost one series, and it was the last one against BetBoom Team. Despite losing, Yatoro was the star of his team in all 3 games because he got the chance to play some of his best heroes.

We’ve seen him on things like Terrorblade, Ursa, Doom, and several other heroes. However, he is also known for his incredible Phantom Lancer.

Solo

If we take a look at all of the Dota 2 regions in the current DPC, we can see that most of the top teams consist of numerous young players who are motivated to win as much as possible. However, most squads have at least one old-school start, and HellRasiers is not an exception.

The newly-formed squad surprised everyone in Eastern Europe by winning most of its matches. In the end, HR’s results were enough to grant the team the 3rd and last spot for The Lima Major. Unsurprisingly, their captain Solo had a key role in the team’s success.

Solo is one of the most popular players in Eastern Europe and one of the most experienced positions 5 players in the game. He’s been a part of many legendary rosters over the years, but most people know him for his time with Virtus.Pro. He was the team’s captain for many years, during which VP had no competition in CIS.

When it comes down to this DPC, Solo’s experience allowed him to out pick many of the other captains. Needless to say, this helped his team win.

Gpk

We thought of including only 1 player for a given team, but we were really impressed with BetBoom’s performance. Consequently, we’ve added another player from their team to the list of the best in Eastern Europe.

The 21-year-old Russian mid-laner was the best midder in Division I and had a key role in his team’s success. Even though he had to go up against the likes of depressed kid, Larl, reibl, and other popular CIS midders, gpk had no problems in the laning stage and carried his team to victory.

Even though the current meta is not that good for the Russian superstar because he rarely gets the chance to use his favorite Templar Assassin, BetBoom picked a wide range of other heroes he’s good at. For example, we’ve seen him on heroes like Puck, OD, Leshrac, and more.

Noticed

Despite the fact that Virtus.Pro failed to secure one of the slots for the Lima Major. Noticed, their team’s offlaner impressed everyone with this stellar performance. The young Russian player performed better than expected and was one of the reasons why VP secured 4 wins in the DPC. However, even he couldn’t carry his team to the top 3 spots and secure a slot for the Major.

One of the reasons why Noticed played well is because of the current meta. The 20-year-old player is good on heroes like Mars and Tidehunter, which is good news for him because both heroes work well now. 

Of course, Noticed is also one of the many offlaners in the Eastern European DPC Division I that plays Death Prophet. The latter is one of the most popular heroes in this region, which explains why we’ve seen her in almost every team’s draft.
