Dota 2: DreamLeague Season 20 Favorites – Which Teams To Follow?

Here are some of the DreamLeague Season 20 favorites to keep an eye on.

As we’re slowly approaching the end of Tour 3 of the 2023 DPC, the best Dota 2 teams in the world have started preparing for the Bali Major. However, before watching it, we will have the opportunity to see the best team in the world at the DreamLeague Season 20.

This non-DPC tournament will have 16 teams and they will fight for the amazing $1M USD prize pool. What’s more, the two best-performing squads will also receive a slot for the Riyadh Masters 2023, which is the biggest non-DPC tournament of the year.

We won’t go into detail about the event itself because this article will focus on the DreamLeague Season 20 favorites. There are a couple of big teams to choose from if you are interested in betting, so it’s time to learn more about them. Speaking of betting, we have access to some of the best Dota 2 betting sites, so let’s learn more about them.

Team Liquid

Let’s face it, Team Liquid’s most recent results in WEU’s DPC haven’t been that impressive. Sure, the team defeated some of the best in the region, but it also lost more games than most people expected. Nevertheless, no one can deny that Nisha and his squad are one of the DreamLeauge Season 20 favorites.

Team Liquid will be in Group A, where it will bet on a few other teams that can also be among the potential winners. It won’t be easy for the squad to stand out, but it has what it takes, so we can’t wait to see if it will meet the expectations. Keep in mind that only 4 teams will survive from each group, so Team Liquid will need to step up its game.

Tundra Esports

One team stood out from the rest in Western Europe during Tour 3 of the 2023 DPC, and its name is Tundra Esports. Unsurprisingly, this is one of the DreamLeague Season 20 favorites because the squad can defeat everyone. Following its recent victory against Team Secret, Tundra became the only team in WEU without dropping a single series, which is extremely impressive, considering this is the most competitive Dota 2 region globally.

If you remember the way Tundra Esports won The International 11, you probably know that the team had the best understanding of the current meta. It seems like this is the case yet again because Tundra’s tactics on 7.33c are on another level. We expect the team to bring its A-game and win this event.

Team Spirit

The third team from Group A at DreamLeague Season 20 that people will want to pay close attention to is Team Spirit. Although the squad’s results in the last big tournament haven’t been that impressive, it seems like Yatoro and the rest are back. The team crushed its competitors in Eastern Europe, so it will try to do the same on the international stage before the Bali Major.

One of the reasons why we think that Team Spirit is among the DreamLeague Season 20 favorites is because it didn’t drop a single series in EEU. Furthermore, the team plays a lot more confidently than before, meaning it spent a lot of time investigating the current meta. It won’t be easy for Spirit to shine in a group with Tundra and Liquid, but the squad has what it needs to win.

PSG.LGD

The Chinese Dota 2 teams are not on the same level as their Western counterparts, at least in the last couple of months. Nevertheless, there is one exception because PSG.LGD is one of the few that can compete with the best. Therefore, it is among the DreamLeague Season 20 favorites.

Like Tundra Esports, LGD was flawless in the Chinese DPC because neither team was able to bring it down. However, the average level of the Chinese region hasn’t been that good lately, so it will be interesting to see if the squad can actually overcome the best in the world from Western Europe.

LGD is in Group A, where only 4 teams will advance to the event’s next stage. It definitely won’t be easy, but this will be a good training session for the Bali Major, which will start just a couple of days after the end of DreamLeague Season 20.

Gaimin Gladiators

Moving to Group B of this Dota 2 tournament, we have a couple of interesting names there that can surprise fans with their results. However, the only that is above the rest is Gamin Gladiators, so it shouldn’t be surprising that a lot of Dota 2 betting sites consider it to be among the DreamLeague Season 20 favorites.

Even though the squad couldn’t finish first in WEU’s Division I, it preformed pretty well. We will see the team in Bali in just a couple of weeks from now, and since the squad won the last 2 Majors, it will be the favorite there. Speaking of winning, Gaimin Gladiators also lifted the DreamLeague Season 19 trophy, so it can repeat its performance.

Despite being among the favorites, this Dota 2 team will have to overcome the likes of Tundra, assuming it survives in Group B of the tournament.

Shopify Rebellion

Finally, we have the only North American Dota 2 team that has some chance of defeating the other DreamLeague Season 20 favorites. We’ve seen that Arteezy’s squad has the power to win events, which is why we weren’t surprised that some of the leading gambling websites provide good odds.

Shopify Rebellion achieved the best possible rests in the North American DPC. The team finished without dropping a single game in all of its 7 series. This is impressive, to say the least, even for a Dota 2 region that is not known for having the best teams.
