Available to purchase and download today, RE:CALL arrives from the creator of Evan’s Remains – Matias Schmied – as they team up with the Whitethorn Games team (previously behind the likes of Lake, APICO and more) to thrust players into a new visual novel crossed with puzzle platformer.
RE:CALL will see you delving deep into the mind, as you look to search through the protagonist’s memories in hope of amending the present time. The idea is that those amendments and changes will be of help, but of course, things can – and probably will – go wrong.
It’s a flashback system which is the heart of RE:CALL as you wield the power to alter a recollection of past events in order to immediately affect the present. For instance, a guard with a minor head wound may be barring the entrance to a door, but what if the protagonist used another method to get past them instead of the rock they used the first time around?
It all boils down to a bit of puzzle solving, some change of hearts and customisation of the minds of friends and foes, all as you look to reshape the future. Think of yourself as a modern day memory detective and you’ll be somewhere close.
