The page has turned to the 2023 season and fans everywhere are excited to see what their teams are doing for the Spring Split. This is the first Power Ranking of the new year and while teams prepare, analysts discuss their teams at length. Like all Power Rankings, these will instantly be wrong upon being published. But that is okay because pieces like these are fun thought experiments as everyone waits for the season to begin. So, without further adieu, here are the LCS 2023 Spring Split Power Rankings, heading into Week 2.

10. Immortals (Last Week: 10)
It was not a good Week 1 for Immortals. Kills are not everything but walking out of two games with just 6 and a KD of .22 is just not good. This team needs to find a player and just focus on getting them as fed as possible. Until they do that, it is only going to get worse. This could be another extremely long season for IMT fans.
9. Golden Guardians (Last Week: 9)
Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades or so the old saying goes (this may just be a midwest thing). The Guardians played their first game against Evil Geniuses very well and then they were decimated by Cloud9. While Cloud9 are very good, it left a bad taste in the mouths of GG fans. This week will not be any easier for this squad so they are going to have to buckle up.
8. Dignitas (Last Week: 7)
Many thought that this team would be better than people were giving them credit for. Then similarly to IMT, they put up horrible stat lines and just generally looked out of sync. For a team with so many veterans and storied players, this should not happen. Week 2 gives DIG the chance to jump on two teams who also did not perform up to expectations. Dignitas still are not favored but could surprise and grab a win.
7. Team Liquid (Last Week: 4)
This had to be one of the biggest surprises of the LCS season, TL going 0-2. Game one was against an expectedly good FLY team but to lose against bitter rival TSM, no way. Instead, TSM looked more calm and took advantage of the many mistakes of Summit. He will have to be better and Pyosik may have to carry more of the load as they head into a must-win game against a hapless Immortals team.
6. TSM (Last Week: 8)
There is no doubt that TSM earned their 2-0 in week 1. They play the mid and late-game teamfights well and surprised everyone. That being said, they will have to do more to prove that this was not just a one-time thing. There is a good chance it wasn’t but if there was a week to show it, it would be week 2. If TSM find their way to 4-0 with victories against 100T and EG, then there are new discussions that should be had surrounding the entire org.
5. 100 Thieves (Last Week: 5)
Many had hoped the return of Doublelift and his partnering up with Bjergsen would have a bit more fireworks but C9 quickly extinguished that flame. Luckily they found their way to 1-1 thanks to the fact that they played Immortals. This week the team will be looking to get revenge against TSM after a potentially easier game against Dignitas. Getting to 3-1 heading into the second half of the first round-robin would reignite some of the hoopla surrounding this 100 Thieves team.
4. Evil Geniuses (Last Week: 1)
It was a weekend to forget for jojopyun. He went a combined 5-12-10 and just generally looked out of sync with his team. That being said, newcomer FBI seemingly picked up the slack. Luckily this team is talented enough that one loss with jojo playing as badly as he did shows how good EG really are. Do not expect that to happen again as EG come into week 2 expecting to go 2-0.
3. CLG (Last Week: 6)
The Dignitas win was whatever but the Evil Geniuses win was hard-fought and showed that CLG still have that amazing team chemistry. They will look to continue to show that 2022 summer was not a fluke against Cloud9. If they can slay that giant then a game aginst IMT should see them being possibly the only 2-0 team heading into week 3. Wouldn’t that be something?
2. FlyQuest (Last Week: 3)
There were many who wondered how long it would take this team to find their stride. There is a chance that wondering will shift to can anyone slow them down? Prince is already looking amazing and he doesn’t even have his starting support yet. Add in that VicLa had a great second game along with Spica and Impact doing their thing and fans are looking at a potentially unstoppable squad.
1. Cloud9 (Last Week: 2)
The game against FLY will really determine things for the beginning of the season but the C9 doubters should be quite for now. Fudge had the best week of LCS of his life and will likely be getting K’Sante banned from him. Diplex looked like he was going to fit right in and Blaber was given everything he needed. The crazy part? Berserker and Zven didn’t have to lift a finger and this team probably still would have walked out of week 1 2-0. This team is terrifying and they are not even close to being at their peak in terms of performance.
